Up From The Depths

Hello friends! Been awol from the blog. Life happening in the background as it were. You probably know some variation of the score. But comics have also been happening. Backwood Folk #3 is getting real close! Think it’s gunna be a good one. It features a Bigfoot Expedition descending on Po’Dunk to discover the secrets of the Pink Eye! They might even find a few. It’s both more and less of a Bigfoot comic than you might be expecting.

There’s also a new webcomic short from THESE GHOST TOWNS ARE FULL up and ready to be read for free! CATFISH HANDS is a little short about fishing on the Buffalo and some underwater dangers you should take into account. It’s completely standalone and has little to do with the preceedings of Backwood Folk, save maybe a growing focus on the Buffalo River and how we use it. Check out CATFISH HANDS to read more!

If you are in Northwest Arkansas you might have seen a flyer from NWA FILM CLUB advertising a screening of Godzilla And Mothra at the Springdale Public Library. If the art seemed familiar it’s because it was by yours truly! Big fan of Film Club and a big fan of Godzilla. So I was grinning from ear the entire time I was drawing. Should be a lot of fun, and features music from Christopher Felton! Who you might remember accompanying me for NEW OZARKS GHOSTS at Pearl’s Books a few years back. Gunna be a fun event and I can’t wait to attend.

My contribution to the Arkansas International has now also made it’s way online! They asked me to adapt/illustrate a short by Arkansas’s very own Charles Portis. Couldn’t say no to that! You can read it in full in the print edition of Issue 18 (which I always recommend, you can even pick it up at the prior mentioned Pearl’s Books!) Or you can read it online in full right here.

I believe that’s all for now! I’ll descend back into the drawing mines until we get Backwood Folk #3 out and in the public! Afterwards some more short ghost stories and work on issue #4!

Till later days, keep safe and sturdy.
