See You At Spa-Con!
Next weekend, I’ll be back at Hot Springs for another Spa-Con! I’ll be there with a big new stack of Backwood Folk issue twos along with a load of other books and wares. On the Sunday of the event you can even catch me doing another panel/live drawing demonstration on Arkansas Cryptids!
You can also probably tell by the art above that I did the poster/shirt design again this year. It’s always such a trip to be at a convention and just see your drawings and doodles on practically every corner of the place.
Also, if you are interested in my work, I also suggest checking out fellow Spa-Con guest, Sean Fitzgibbon. He’s another Arkansas comic artist and illustrator. He’s responsible for the absolutely wonderful What Follows Is True: Crescent Hotel. Which is a documentary comic of the origins of America’s most haunted hotel in Eureka Springs. Specifically the years it operated as Health Clinic under a scam artist named Norman Baker. It gets my most complete recommendation as a work of Ozark History and one of comics.

- In October I’ll be taking the hosting reins of our podcast on Ozarks history, folklore, and beyond. I’ll be doing a dive into some local Bigfoot history and events. Well more specifically the history of Bigfoot culture in the Ozarks. Gunna be a strange intersection of the camp fire stories to interent forum drama. If you are into this comic you’ll probably be into this too. Also not to tip my hand too much, but a lot of the research for this podcast series was also born of research for Backwood Folk Issue 3.
it was absolutely amazing meeting and speaking to you, I look forward to all the work you put out and Im gonna put money down on all the stuff you’ve already made as soon as I can. this weekend really put a skip back in my step for the things that I love, hope you have safe travels and a good rest!
Oh heck! Thank you for the kind words. Means a lot. Now I gotta work on rest. Best regards!
